Sunlight dances across Marina's face through her straw hat while she smiles as she watches the antics of her sisters and cousins playing in the back yard.  This project is done using Prismacolor Nupastels and Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils or General's Pastel Pencils.  The Nupastels and the pastel pencils are considered "hard pastels".  They are available in art stores.  If you don't have a store near you, there are many online art stores.  The surface is a piece of Canson Mi-Teintes paper.  The packet includes complete step by step instructions, a line drawing, a photo and a value map.  If you have never tried pastels but have always wanted to, this may be the project for you.
